Back in the Saddle

After the last "Frankenclock" fiasco we took a much needed break. A "Betty" inspired haircut and a weekend of camping with friends later, we are back in the saddle again.

Recipe for Disaster in 20 Easy Steps

1. Order 1 Shiny Green Beetle from overseas
2. Let soak till pliable
3. Gently pin and let dry to taste
4. Introduce 1 vintage clock
5. Promptly drop clock on Shiny Green Beetle
6. Thoroughly smash beetle


7. Stew 1 hour

8. Disassemble aforementioned clock
9. Find it uninspiring


10. Stew 1 hour

11. Come up with 3 design ideas (and a new beetle following steps 2 & 3)
12. 1 idea must involve fake grass


13. Add gears, upholstery fabric and assorted embellishments to taste
14. Gently mix 5-8 hours
15. Let mixture sit overnight
16. Accidentally smash second beetle


17. Decide entire idea is rubbish
18. Destroy assembly


19. Let fly 1 frustrated sigh
20. Sulk 24 hours – start fresh tomorrow
